This video is a work-in-process documentation of our Queendom Choir learning some American Sign Language (ASL).

The idea was inspired by my Aunt Lily
who first worked with me on it when I
was young.

At various moments, because my technical skill in video-making is at the "fun hobby" stage, our hands are visually cut off.

If you don't speak a language where hands are vital to meaning and flow, the impact is like someone's pressing a mute button quickly on-and-off during some of the words.

When I realized this problem, I felt embarrassed and worried about doing
more harm than good, and considered scrapping the video.

Then I remembered that for learning,
the process is just as important as the product, and rich complexity is all part
of life's magnificence.

So I’m releasing this video on the day I originally intended, hoping to share with others in the learning too. (Happy Birthday, Aunt Lily!!)

I'm also sharing my commitment to keep practicing and using ASL… I’m getting farther, faster, now that I've discovered how much music helps me with word recall.

Also, if you speak ASL, I'm very open to learn more from your experience, and
will do my best to use the awareness you bring to raise the bar on my efforts!
